Welcome to Boroughbury Medical Centre.
Our aim is to provide excellent first class healthcare whilst maintaining traditional values. We are an expanding teaching and research practice and we provide a wide range of services.
We have a modern purpose built Surgery at our Craig Street Practice and also have a branch surgery at Church Street, Werrington.
The purpose of this web site is to provide to a wealth of useful information on all our services together with information on various health issues, along with links to other relevant medical organisations.

We need to make sure you get the very best service from your Practice.
In order to do this you may be directed to see a highly trained member of the health care team rather than a Doctor. Please be assured that you will be able to see a Doctor if your issue cannot be dealt with by the team member for any reason.
All appointments can be booked by the following method
- Our automated telephone booking system
- On line or via the Systm online app – log in details are required. Please speak to a member of Patient Services
- By speaking to a member of our Patient Services Team – press option 3
Please remember to cancel your appointment
If you do not need your appointment someone else will
Regardless of what method you used to book your appointment you are able to check cancel or change your appointment using our automated 24 hr telephone system or through the on line system.

Don't worry if you have missed our walk-in flu clinics. You can still have the flu vaccination by making an appointment with one of our nursing team
If you are eligible for the Flu Jab you will have been sent an invite letter OR SMS.

DON’T FORGET YOU CAN ORDER YOUR MEDICATION UP TO 14 DAYS BEFORE IT IS DUE TO AVOID ANY DELAY OVER THE HOLIDAY PERIOD.
IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS REGARDING THE SUPPLY OF YOUR MEDICATION OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD PLEASE SPEAK TO A MEMBER OF THE MEDICINES MANAGEMENT TEAM.

FAILING TO TURN UP FOR AN APPOINTMENT - DON'T BE A DNA!

If you don’t need it, someone else will
A total 1333 appointments were lost to patients who ‘did not attend’ or ‘cancel’ their appointments in July, August and September 2018. This was 3.6% of the total appointments booked in these months.
The total number of GP appointments lost to patients who ‘did not attend’ during this period was 499 hours or the equivalent of 14 days of GP appointments.
DID YOU KNOW?
You are able to use our automated telephone system to cancel your appointment regardless of how you booked it.
You do not need to speak to a member of staff at the surgery to cancel your appointment if you used the automated system.

We gratefully acknowledge the Grant we have received from the Harry Cureton Charitable Trust in 2018, which has enabled us to purchase a Microsuction unit, Learning & Development for staff and a Hydraulic Couch so we can now offer a Microsuction Service to patients.
